Hero Books

For the next unit, you will be working in literature circles and reading a hero novel.  You have six books to choose from based on an interest survey of ten original titles.  The book options are:

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs

Leviathan by Scott Westerfield

The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan

Graceling by Kristen Cashore

Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin

Please click on the links above to read about the titles.  Choose the book that sounds the most interesting to you!  Books are due by October 28.  That is the day we will start reading them in class.  We will set up reading guides and you will spend four weeks reading your book, mostly outside of class, and one or two days a week you will be meeting with your teacher-assigned group to discuss your book.  We will also have weekly reading quizzes.
